It's the highest price fetched to date for lots being auctioned via the ongoing Rugby World Cup 2015 Official Auction.

The RWC 2015 Final pitted two rugby giants against each other at the hallowed grounds of Twickenham in London, with the All Black of New Zealand coming out on top over the Wallabies of Australia by a score of 34-17. It was the first time the RWC has seen a back to back champion in a Tournament dominated by southern hemisphere teams who filled out all 4 semi-final spots.

Pursuit 3 Group, managers of the auction, commented "It's really no surprise the demand for such an artefact was so high, given the squads involved, great players competing, location of the final, overall success of the Tournament and surge in popularity that rugby is gaining on a global basis."

The ball also bears the signatures of All Blacks captain, international caps record holder and first ever two time RWC champion skipper Richie McCaw, Wallabies Captain Stephen Moore, All Blacks Coach Steve Hansen and Referee Nigel Owens.
